It’s no surprise I spend a little time in the kitchen. And I have all sorts of favorite food products and tools that I have become very attached to. For months I’ve been wanting to start a new category to showcase these products, and the time has come. Understand upfront, no one has asked me to do this, I am not paid, none of these items were given to me from the manufacturer. I simply want to share a good thing when I run across it.
For the first post in this new category – introducing Jack Millers Cajun All-Purpose Seasoning. Oven roasted steak fries seasoned with Jack Miller? Can’t be better…and trust me, I’ve tried ALL sorts of seasoning ideas.
A friend at work and I spontaneously traded seasonings one day. Lynn asked me if I’ve tried Jack Miller? I said no. And I asked her if she’s tried SPIKE? She said no. So a deal was done. I love this stuff.
I slip it into soups, stews,and casseroles. I top steaks, chicken – and salmon…it’s heavenly on salmon. When you season with this though, hedge on seasoning with additional salt.
Here we have russet potatoes, cut into steak fries, tossed very lightly with olive oil, liberally seasoned with Jack Miller, then oven baked at 400 for 25 minutes. I turned the wedges1/2 way through baking.
Disclosure: For as pure, innocent, and low fat as the potato is with this baking method….the sauce is equally as decadent and evil, however insanely delicious. This is a Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde scenario. I’ve previously posted the Chick-Fil-A dipping sauce and here is it again, acting like it’s all innocent but criminally addictive. If you make this sauce, you’ll just stop buying ketchup for dipping. Poor ketchup.
So, after my hubs shot these photos he laid claim to the potatoes. He also took the bowl of dipping sauce with him…saying he hoped I “didn’t need this for anything else”. It wasn’t a question.
